Ride Cut Sheets: [Part 1] [Part2]

This ride will take us from Pontiac Lake Recreation Area to Holly Recreation Area and back. There will be around 2400 feet of climbing and we will be passing a grocery store about half way for supplies. We will probably stop at the beach and eat then ride back. Should be a good time come on out.

See you on the Dusty Trail.

Greased the Wheels

During the winter riding I would hit the car wash trying to avoid the bearings but that and the riding in the rain, poor design, normal washing had left the rear wheel bearing feeling gritty. So I have had the need to re-grease my wheel bearings.

After doing some investigating I decided to do all four bearings, the front where in good shape the rear had signs of water. I only took photos of the front, sorry they are crap.

I also decided to make a new precision grease gun out of a syringe to make the job a little easier and it worked out well. Here it is loaded up with some water proof grease, the same stuff used in my boat trailer bearings.

How to Tie a Bandana

Today I am going on a long gravel grind and will be packing and wearing my bandana bandit-o style just in case I need to rob some kids at a lemonade stand. So a googling I go to to find how to tie it and here are a few links and a video to waste your day.

Ruckus Components

I would like to introduce Ruckus Components as a sponsor for the upcoming Spartacus 100: Blood and Gravel on July 24th. They make some kick ass carbon bash guards among other things, check them out for yourselves. http://www.ruckuscomponents.com/

Spartacus 100: A few good sponsors

With the Spartacus 100 coming up July 24th we need sponsors. This is a FREE event with donations going to the American Red Cross. The plan is for this to be a annual event leaving from Pontiac Lake Recreation Area and riding 100 miles of gravel roads and then returning for a swim and some grilling. These are super fun and challenging events that are all the buzz.

We really could use all the help we can get. From swag to food and volunteers to help out. So if your business, shop, team or club would like to help out in one way or another please contact me and we can discuss the details duke @ mysinglespeed . com

I will make sure anyone supporting this event will get added to the event page with links, the event flyer and all other art work associated with this event. If you could pass this along to anyone you think might be interested I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Duke
