Hey June where's the beaver?09

Good riddance May that was a tough month for trail riding and racing. The first time I have seen races postponed or delayed and I think its leaving everyone with a testosterone overload. I am hoping that June will deliver the weather before we have a major white out.

There are many fun events going on this month so check the site Calendar I'm sure I will see many of you out there this month.

Rear View Mirror

Nothing exciting for me to report, not buying or building any new bikes so I will update my heart and lung activity for the last couple weeks.

Two weeks ago was a easy/recovery week these happen every three to four weeks. This time I just cut everything in half mileage wise so I got around a 100 miles on the singlespeed and a 5 mile run. I have found this to be a lot easier than trying to do easy rides and pay attention to my intensity levels and duration, which I am a complete failure at...

This last week I was back to ab normal.

Sunday - MangoMon and I did a gravel grinder ride 40 miles.
Monday - 40.41 miles on the singlespeed.

Hot and Wet

That title could be for a PRON movie but it really describes my week in review. This was the hottest week that I can remember at least according to the heat index and the humidity was just insane.

Monday: 45.27 miles on the singlespeed including 2 hours in a hard rain, swam for a 1/2 hour.
Tuesday: 8 mile run, humidity was 93% when I left hard to breath.
Wednesday: 16.92 miles on the singlespeed it started to rain and I turned around and headed home.
Thursday: 34.10 miles on the singlespeed, 3 mile run ... this was a ride run ride brick.
Friday: 41.70 on the singlespeed.

Brick up side the head

I have been back to running for about the last 6 weeks. Nothing real long, have been keeping things short for the first month hoping to get my foot conditioned again, so far so good. So last week I kicked up the mileage a bit and to two times a week.

Tuesday is just a run day for 8 miles, the Thursday run is wrapped in between a ride run ride (brick), I am still working the ratio's out but for now it has been 15 ride, 5ish run, 25 ride.

I'm not sure what has happened to me maybe heat, dehydrated or to much sex < insert laughter > but I have not been able to recover for shite. I am hoping it was only the heat cause there is a certain satisfaction I get from running that I don't seem to get on the bike and I also have vision of a Half Iron Man... yes on a singlespeed since its so short ;)

Since my recovery was so poor this week looks like I will be either riding or running on Sunday, a day I like to ride the lazy boy recliner. NBC @ 3:00 est has a Iron Man on so I will be back by then for sure.

That is all for now
