Addison Judgement Day

Addison Oaks XC 9/21/08

Sunday came cloudy and cool, which is always a Plus, I went to meet Duke, at Tim Horton's for morning fuel, I.E. COFFEE !!!!!! I had been nervous since I signed up online for this race. I barely slept the nite before, but it helped to count Napper's as I fell asleep.

We got to Addison a little early but, we wanted to catch some of the Elite action. Finally about 2 they called us up to the line, I was doing my age group 50+ so we went out about the third wave or so. I tried to keep the guys in my class in sight, but I was pushing a little to hard, so I must have fell about 4 or 5 times. But I just picked it up and continued on, got passed by some of the Country Day kids.

Finally made it out of the woods for my first lap, there was Abbey and Duke shooting pics and video. came out and hit that grass section, damn grass is like Velcro!!! Made it out for Lap 2, this one I rode most of by myself, which was much easier, didn't fall at all this time!! Finally made it to the finish in 6th place or DFL as it was.

But my goal was to finish my first race, which I did!! Just want to thank everyone who came out for support !! God knows I needed it. If you would asked me last year if I would EVER race SS's I would have laughed. Never been that Athletic. So with the help of everyone on this Site I DID IT !!!!!!!
