Wow, so many thoughts about Addison..sport or expert....34x17...34x16. Reba or rigid. Crows or fast traks. Sleeveless or sleeves. Guess I will have another PBR and not worry about it.
it was a great day for a race. eventually, I am going to make it to enough of these east side races to be familiar enough with the course to pick a gear. Needless to say my gear selection of 36X16 was a poor choice.
I would have been a lot better off with a 34x16. The rollers took their toll and by the 4th lap the cramps had set in pretty heavy. If anything the 36X16 hurt me as well by allowing me to go out with the lead pack for half of the first lap. I knew I couldn't hold the pace they were putting down, in hindsight this probably cost me in the end. But, that's racing. I like that course, it is super fast. Rock gardens for days. The first couple of laps I was able to unweight and clear most of them, but by the end my arms had given up.
Big picture, this drops the 19th place finish off in the CPS that I got at fort custer when my seat post broke and increases my overall point total to 138. The second place points holder currently has 105 points. So, if the second place individual decides to do Pando in a couple of weeks, and wins, I would only need to finish 15th or better to clinch the overall series championship.
yeah, totally my own fault. Really it boils down to the fact that I was just too lazy to change it. probably didn't help either that all I had to eat was a couple of english muffins on the drive over. I couldn't even see straight when I was done. now that's a bonk.

Mark, I felt your pain and I could see you were starting to struggle on the last lap. I can still hear the...."Oh My God, My legs just seized up on me SCREAM" just before the last climb. I saw you jump off your bike and knew you must of cramped up. That gear is just a little to tall for Addison, those little power climbs start to hurt after the third lap.
I have to say that the Expert SS XC class is why hard. I think I will stick to the Endurance racing.
you got to witness the explosion from a front row seat.
I noticed that you had what appeared to be ashima rotors. How do you like those? do you notice any difference in braking performance? what about pad wear?

I will come on out and cheer you on... its a great place for a race as long as its dry.
