Bloomer XC 08 Report

Bloomer XC O8 Report 4/27/08

We had a handful of our single gear warriors come out from the clan today Neil Scharphorn, Mark Becker, Ron Grant and Eric Hozeman. Fresh off his Yankee Springs victory Neil again taking on the Elite men with one gear (5-laps), Mark fresh of his Pontiac Lake TT victory returned to the sport/beg singlespeed class (3-laps) while Ron and Eric signed up for there age group beginner classes (2-laps) for there first races of the year.

I again provided my superior cheer leading skills with help from MangoMon on camera. We also had a m.y.r.o.o. sighting as he stopped by while working on his Lumberjack100 base miles. The weather was sunny and warm 60's, from what I saw of the coarse was also in very good condition.

Tailwinds in there consistent show of support for the singlespeed community started the expert/elite singlespeeders then the sport/beg singlespeeders then the rest.

Neil ended up taking a 5th place after leading the first lap in the Elite class. While Mark seemed to go out pretty hard and held it till the end and ended up with another first place. We also had some familiar faces on the podium with site mates bh357 taking 3rd and Biscuit taking 4th. Ron also went on to get his first, first place of the year in his age group. Eric rounded out our podium appearance for the day with a third in his age group.

At the end of the day it was a another fun day of racing thanks to everyone that came out. Tailwind and all the volunteers awesome job!
