Brighton
I will be doing the Brighton XC race on Sunday. A friend is going and I thought it would be a good indicator if I am ready for Hanson Hills next week. Will post a race report on Monday.
........Biz will be there!!
is planning on the SS expert/elite XC on sunday. doing the 5 k cancer run in detroit tomorrow, so i doubt that i will have time to make it out to brighton for the TT and short track events. anyone else? gear ratios for the murray lake loop? not as tough on the climbs as the torn shirt loop.
Good luck everybody I would come hang out but the kid has his graduation on Sunday and tomorrow I need to get some hours in.
hung with tompkin in a lead group for about the first 4 miles. looking good. feeling good. until......... head on with a tree about a foot in diameter.
DNF and a very 'interesting' new geometry (i.e. - bent to crap, dusted, cooked, finito) on the niner. don't know how i didn't get knocked out. somehow ejected to the left and missed the hardwood. my body is COMPLETELY unscathed, which i'll happily take! great day for a hike (a bike) though:)
Glad to hear you are OK... the bike is totaled?
the frame is bent to hell on the downtube and toptube behind the headset. bent, buckled upwards, and nearly cracked. reynolds 853 tweaked like this? a VERY solid crash indeed. i just threw on a new white bros. rock solid last night. somehow, i think it's ok. carbon tubes are good. need to closely examine steerer tube for tweakage. all in all, for such a solid hit, i'm looking at a totaled frame only (still definitely not cheap). bright side.....new frame has to happen (somehow). brighter side.... walked (a LONG ways) away.
........ Yes I passed you twice!! Bummer!
that really sucks. I know I'm not the only one who wants to see a picture of that frame though!
Yeah, please post carnage pics.
Glad to hear you're ok. It sounds like a nasty crash.
Just a reminder steel bends
