Overall it was nice to

Overall it was nice to checkout that part of the country and get out of the cooler temperatures up here, but that was a tough one. Training in the 40's and racing in the 80's was a bit of a shock on my system. I had a flat 10 miles in and that kind of set the tone for the day. Trying to hurry the repair cost me more time, I blew the bead off on my first attempt. After the repair, I first thought I'd settle in and just ride it out, and soaking in the cool place I had just drove 13 hours to ride/race at. But I realized anything could happen and put the hammer down. I started passing people left and right and was feeling like I was making progress. At the 4 hr mark I stopped at an aid station feeling good but that changed at 6 hour mark when I started to cramp like I never had before. I had basically overextended myself trying to reel the top SSer's in and had to hang on after that. I was turning a 32x18 and those last climbs were brutal.
Hopefully I got my bad luck out of the way, Mohican here we come!
