Fisher Rig ?

My SS is a 2007 Fisher Rig and I have always had an issue with rear tire size. If I run a tire larger than 2.0 in the rear it rubs the chainstays when climbing. I have read some forums that others have had this issue with early Rig's and that Fisher has corrected this issue. Does anyone out there have or have heard of the same issue. I am looking to get a new SS if I can sell off a bike and some parts over the winter. You can purchase the Rig as a frameset with the Fox fork for under a grand. Am wondering if it is worth it or should I look at something else? Complete single speeds from Cannondale and Raliegh can be had for under $800. Just looking for some feedback.

I never...

had that problem and ran an 07 Rig for a season. What wheels are you running? The new Rig looks sweet in root beer metal flake.

I am running the factory bontrager ss wheels that came on it and have tried a different set (maddux) and both did this. I put an e-mail out to Fisher tech support to get their input on the new frame. I may just be to fat!

If you go with Cannondale I

If you go with Cannondale I would look for a leftover 2009. The only SS model they will have for 2010 has low level components on it and a rigid fork. I have one on order to use as an all around winter bike and possible commuter but it's not due in until December. I like my current SS I built it from the frame up. I wanted to try the carbon frame but it will not be made in a SS version. I have the frame on order anyway to compliment my aluminum g***ed version.

I have

I have the better components that I can swap around. If I sell what I need to I will be able to buy what I need/want. If not I may just try different wheels on my Rig. Either way I will be keeping the Rig and would use it as a backup or winter bike. Have also looked at some frames on line. One that has really peaked my interest is the IRO. They claim you can fit up to a 2.5 tire.
