No, but the same as the one

No, but the same as the one back in August. Hopefully drier. I will probably put out some markings next weekend if the weather is nice.

I marked the course this

I marked the course this afternoon with orange painted arrows, at least all the trail on the school property. I also marked the entrance and exit into Bald Mountain but didn't have time to mark the turns inside BM. I also cleared all the leaves and pine needles off the singletrack so they are easier to see, at least for a day.

The school has mowed any of the grass sections we are using to make the path more defined. It should make it easier to see in most all spots.

The easiest place to start if preriding is down behind the school, just on the other side of the yellow gate by the gravel drive. The race starts out going behind the ball field and travels clockwise. Remember to follow the orange marks, there are white ones out there as well from the XC meet.

Just a heads up for those

Just a heads up for those preriding the course. The past two afternoons I have come across piles of logs and brush piled on the trail. Each was in a different spot and took some effort to drag the debris to where it was piled. Today's pile was not there as of 7:00 last night so it was probably done some time today, perhaps by students after school. Some marking flags were also removed but they had been in place from the last race.

I will be marking the course Friday evening and Saturday morning. I also plan on clearing the singletrack of leaves on Friday.

Remember that Thursday night is the last chance to preregister and save some money. Proceeds go to the Food Bank. Also, there is a money class for men and women this year if you think you are up to the challenge. Top three in each split the purse based on the number of entries. The more that enter, the more you could win.

I just got back from marking

I just got back from marking most of the course and clearing the leaves off the singletrack. The singletrack is firm, no standing water or mud. But the top layer is slick in a lot of spots so it will make some of the hills and corners exciting. It may dry up some by race time, especially for the later race.

The grass sections have some water but hard in most spots. Again, there will be some greasy areas early. I did not get into Bald Mountain yet but I would expect that is where we will find some mud and mud puddles in the two mile section of double track we use.

Registration will be open until shortly before race time. Don't forget that this is to benefit the Food Bank and we are discounting your race entry if you bring in non perishable food items. We have schwag to give away from Hammer Nutrition, Cannondale, and Cycletherapy. The locker rooms will be open for changing and taking a shower after the race.

So far we only have one preregistered rider in the Open class. Here is a chance to earn back your entry money if we get enough riders signed up.

Right now it looks like 2 laps for Beginners, 3 for Sport and 4 for Expert and Open. And there is a 5k trail run at 9:00 am for those interested.

See you out there tomorrow.
