Michigan Scholastic MTB racing

Many of you may have heard or read of the initiative to establish a scholastic MTB racing series here in Michigan. The concept has taken off in some of the western states, most notably California where it originated and has spread to other states, including Colorado. While our initial efforts will be small I have already had conversations with the national league founders about possible future inclusion.

The first meeting to discuss the organization of a Michigan scholastic mountain bike racing program will be held on Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 pm at Lake Orion High School, 495 E. Scripps Rd, Lake Orion. At this meeting I will present the proposed concept, organization, and timeline for establishing the first series of races next fall.

I am hoping that we can get enough interested individuals to attend and that we can establish committees to work on various aspects of the league. Please inform and invite anyone you know who may be interested in helping.
