New Trail New Trail New Trail New Trail New Trail New Trail
Dirtlovers--
Stupendous news! The students at MidMichigan Community College (MMCC) near Harrison have just recieved permission to start building 9 miles of singletrack trail on a square mile of wooded hills owned by the college. The trail is all laid out and the first work parties to cut it in will be Sat and Sunday this weekend (see attached emails). The finished trail will be open to the public. This will be the wet-weather-friendly trail that our region has sorely needed! Congratulations to all who made this happen!

Rick received final approval today for the MMCC bike trail to be cut in.
We plan to schedule work sessions this Saturday May 2nd at 2pm and again on Sunday May 3 at 2pm. Meet at the MMCC main parking lot, which is off old US27. Take US127 North to Mannsiding Road Exit - turn right (East) on Mannsiding Rd for 1/4 mile, then turn left (north) on old US-27 for approximately 1/4 mile. Go in the main MMCC entrance and we'll meet at the first parking lot area.
As I mentioned earlier, the trail is completely marked, so we just need to get this cut in for use. We'll need folks to bring rakes, loppers, axes, shovels and we'll need a few chain saws for the big stuff as well.
We would like to get this communicated out via the MMBA chapter if possible. Feel free to contact me at 430-7082 as a contact.
thanks!
Steve
