Can you shove a 26" tube in a 29" tire? I swear I've heard people were doing it to save weight. I have a few 26" tubes laying around and I really don't want to go buy more, so I thought I would see if it might work. Thanks.

Yes, I do it all the time.

Yes, I do it all the time. It helps to inflate the tube slightly before mounting.

It...

It fits fine if You inflate it first to the point where it starts to "become a bigger circle" put the tube in the tire, mount one side of tire to the rim, then deflate a bit so the other side will go on. I have done it a few times but it seems like I get flats more often because of the rubber being stretched out more. It does not work out as well in the trail as a spare because of the pre-inflation thing though. I say go for it if You have the tubes sittig around.
