Pontiac Lake TT
Who's in?
The weather looks like a winner this weekend. You coming out wayne?
On the fence with this one. Good luck to all those that participate!
Suppose to be a great SUNNY Sunday. Heard the trail is in prime shape!
I should be there.
I see on the entry form they are starting singlespeed right after the beginners. Yay.
not really my thing either. I am sure/hope they will change the start. Would hate to be stacked up on 2 mile hill behind 20 people.
Sometimes he puts a 1/2 hour gap in front of the singlespeed class but it wasnt consistent last year.
I've got some minor wrenching to do between now and then, but I'll be out there to give it a go towards a fast lap in the SS expert/elite class. I've basically been conditioning (a fair amount) on the roads and haven't seen much dirt in '09 as of yet. so, we'll see what shakes out.
By the way, I had a conversation a few days back with Robert regarding the USAC licensing for expert/elite classification. If registering in advance online for the SS expert/elite races in this series, it seems as if you'll need a USAC # to get through the process. From talking to him, I think that one could still choose to race SS expert/elite and register day of without a USAC license. It seemed as if he's considering/advocating a move towards requiring licenses though. The reason he hasn't done so to date, is that he basically runs this class as a Sport race and, as such, can't really make it mandatory. I think that the CX series requires the license. So it's just as well to contribute to the USAC if one plans to race nationals and/or the CX series.
I also asked him about his starting arrangements (sending all SSers out together regardless of class and typically following other newbie classes). he didn't seem to have immediate suggestions and showed no real signs of making any quick changes.
Anyway, a few things to consider, but not worry about. See you lads (those that will attend) out there!!!!
Duke - if I don't connect with you between now and Sunday, could you bring my fresh team attire? Thx.

Shirley!
SS starts 20 minutes after the last beginner.
Good luck tomorrow Racers! Was hoping to make it out to spectate but it ain't gonna happen....Looking forward to hearing the resluts though!

it aint so. You would think that Robert would know by now that the SSers will catch the beginners in the first, I don't know, 80 feet.
TT's aren't my thing, but I am excited to give it a go.
